Finnegan's Wake is incomprehensible plot-wise, but the point of it was always to cram as many word plays as possible into a long form novel, which Joyce did very well. Pretty much every sentence has some kind of double meaning, even if there is not great purpose or point being made across the whole work.

To be fair, ITCOTCK is a B, and 1989 is a A-
