Maybe you should learn to make music before seriously considering going to school and likely going thousands of dollars in debt for it.

There are books on how to start composing classical music. Read those and practice doing that sort of composition in whatever style you prefer, preferably nothing too weird though. Even if you don't intend to compose in the classical style compositions of that type are more valuable as portfolio pieces and it's a good way to learn music theory as well.
