Yes I think The Smiles Sessions is a better album, but I can't imagine what demons Brian had to fight in order to even contemplate revisiting this album, and putting it out.

well, it doesn't. it's an exceptionally clean and polished studio recording, but it doesn't sound fake or like MIDI to me. just sounds really clean and precise
