I've never understood why Beat is so maligned among King Crimson fans. I think it's a phenomenal New Wave/Prog record, with great and varied tunes, backed by amazing musical craftsmanship.

What is so bad about it? I just don't get the hate.

The songs all feel weaker than Discipline. All of the fun aspects of that album are missing here.
