Hey all you metalheads. I listen to almost every corner of the metal scene, but recently I've been getting more into atmospheric black metal. Stuff like Burzum, Nargaroth, Harakiri for the Sky. Any other atmospheric BM artists you reccomend? Thanks
kill yourself
Wigrid - Hoffnungstod is really similar to Burzum
Check out some of the bands in Blazebirth Hall scene in Russia. Also pretty similar to Burzum, and have a very atmospheric sound as well. Forest - Зapeвoм Haд Пpaхoм and Branikald - Rusmjod Av Misantropie are my favorites worth checking out.

Make a Change... Kill Yourself is also a good band.

Thanks man, checking out right now

Tried listening to Wigrid. . . I can't take it seriously with those screams
>>75036333
Fair enough, the screams are pretty similar to the first Burzum album though. Are most black metal vocals a problem, or just weird/strange ones?
>>75036365
No, I actually enjoy most of them. They sound sorrowful and like the person is mourning a loss. But that guy's screams are just kinda goofy.

Black metal vocals do require a bit of suspension of disbelief; otherwise, it's a pretty hard genre to listen to unironically.

I think the latter 2 you mentioned are mediocre, OP, no intentions of sounding like an asshole.
Try checking out Evilfeast (ignore the retarded name, great band), Ruins of Beverast, Forest, Mjölnir, Walknut, Lustre and Moonblood.

None taken, just a matter of preference. And i was listening to Forest when you commented, haha

Briefly skimmed through these guys. All sounded pretty good, but I feel like Trist leans more to the noise metal subgenre, but definitely very atmospheric
