What is /mu/'s opinion of Mark Hollis and the last two Talk Talk albums?
Spirit of Eden and Laughing Stock are both incredible albums.

They are. I know very little about music but when I first heard Desire from Spirit of Eden I was completely awed. Afterwards, I listened to the entirety of Spirit of Eden and was enthralled. I'd never before and haven't since just laid in bed and listened to an entire album with my eyes closed, just soaking it in.

imo Spirit of Eden>Mark Hollis>Colour of Spring>Laughing Stock.
But like you said, I love all of it.

I enjoyed all of the albums but I really don't see why they are held in such high regard by /mu/ other than influence. I think SoE is my favourite though.
Laughing Stock used to be my favorite album, for about a year. New Grass is still one of my favorite songs, and I still like Mark Hollis' solo album a lot. Somehow SoE and LS have worn on me a bit, though, and even though I used to be unable to understand the "boring" criticisms, a lot of those albums don't really make me feel much anymore

Spirit of Eden is perfect, never gets old for me. One of my favs. Laughing Stock is also good but never stuck with me like Spirit did

Honestly don't get why everyone has such a hard-on for their last two albums when they made 3 great synthpop records
