if you unironically think that there's a single iota of u2's discography that's not completely inherent dogshit, you have objectively shit taste and shouldn't be browsing this website

>boy

If you unironically think there is not a good moment on Unforgettable Fire, you have objectively shit taste and shouldn't be browsing this website. I would also bet you haven't listened to every U2 album, so quit acting like you know everything

>After spending the previous year touring the world with Irish rock band U2 on their Vertigo Tour, West became inspired by watching Bono open the stadium tours every night to incredible ovations and sought out to compose anthemic rap songs that could operate more efficiently in large stadiums and arenas. In West's attempt to accomplish this "stadium-status" endeavor, West incorporated layered electronic synthesizers into his hip-hop production, which also finds him utilizing slower tempos, being influenced by the music of the 1980s, and experimenting with electronic music...

>>
It's 2017 and you're talking about U2. Why?
>>
>>74992625
Why not? People still talk about REM and New Order and the like on this board. Why not U2?
>>
Achtung baby is a 10/10

>tfw they're releasing the lead single from the new album tomorrow
>tfw it's probably going to be some total misguided pandering attempt dancey pop rock in the vein of neo-Coldplay or Portugal the Man or 21P some sellout shit designed to appeal to Top 40 listeners.
>tfw it will probably be produced by a slew of producers including the fucking OneRepublic guy, Danger Mouse, and Paul Epworth (Adele's producer)
>tfw will probably be co-written by some fucking Swedish songwriting team designed to churn substanceless pop
>tfw it will probably feature Will.i.am and some random white rapper like Macklemore or Logic
>tfw there were probably be some shitty ass official EDM remix by like Kygo or something to even more appeal to the "kiddies"

KILL ME NOW. THIS SHIT MAKES "BEAUTIFUL DAY" AND "ELEVATION" LOOK LIKE CLASSICS.

Didn't even know Danger Mouse was still making music. He doesn't seem to work with other musicians particularly well and drains all the fucking personality out of them in every track
>>
>>74989864

go back to reading maddox you cringy faggot
>>
>>74994447
Honestly fuck Danger Mouse. Why U2 decided to start working with him is beyond me.

He had some good production jobs like 10+ years ago (Gnarls Barkley, Demon Days), but like every time he gets with a new band he makes them more popular but waters them down a bit. And then the more you work with him the more popular and more bland you get until you get so bland that you lose all your popularity (ie. the Black Keys).

Dude's like the anti-Eno/Lanois. At least they can boost a career AND encourage creativity.
>>
>U2 hasn't released a solely Eno & Lanois produced album in the 21st Century

What the fuck is wrong with them. Stop trying to write Top 40 pop and working with hackjobs. You're like 50 something for christs' sake.
>>
>>74994676
It's still burnout from the Pop sessions, which didn't go right at all (and had some pretty bad shows early on).
