Is that what you are asking?
>>74968215
If your tastes grew with hip-hop you can't appreciate anything else. Feel free to pretend.

It's clear now why it had to die

Hey hey hey Mr. Hangman
Go get your rope
>>74968723
that's my bad, I just saw the OP and popped in some of my favorites. I feel like the Swirlies album is a good pick, at least listen to the track Sterling Moss off that album.
Try Portishead - Dummy
>>74969719
We listened to this because we didn't know better and it was the heavily marketed, not because we were incapable of appreciating the merits of better music.
>>74968215
same shit happened to me a few years back. you're about to listen to some great stuff. get the obvious stuff out of the way first:
revolver - the beatles
the doors - the doors
pet sounds - beach boys
i'd also recommend marvin gaye, isaac hayes, al green, james brown, etc. because it's an easier shift from hip-hop rather than jumping straight into folk and prog and the other shit /mu/ will try to force down your throat. all that stuff is good but I doubt you'll appreciate it
also, just listen to the songs your favorite hip-hop tracks sample. i've discovered tons of music that way
