It's the only "nu metal" album I unabashedly like, and it's definitely one of the best Sepultura records. Maybe the most interesting because of the Brazilian folk/tribal elements. That said, after being really into it for a while, I did finally wind up preferring Chaos AD.

People don't talk about it, but Sepultura were at the crossroads of a ridiculous number of trends, including groove metal, thrash, death metal, nu metal on Roots, and arguably even first wave black metal and crust punk.

Yes and no... they were clearly the true visionaries of the band, and without them the band is a shadow of its former self. But even if they can't compare to how they used to be, they're still a surprisingly good band. It's just disappointing compared to their old stuff, but without that context they're pretty good.
