Every song off humanz is either mediocre or trash. 3/10 album.

Agree. This album had some killer tracks that were done solid, but also there's some crappy songs that I wondered why they even wrote them to begin with.

Their past work still holds up for me

This to a T. The vast majority are trash but a couple like Busted and Blue or Ticker Tape are...listenable. Sleeping Powder's still worth more than this entire album.

I think the real problem with this album is that they completely abandoned the chill atmosphere most of their older works have. Whether it's the downtempo piano beat of Clint Eastwood or the acoustic guitar in Feel Good Inc., it was all dropped in favor of punchy EDM and rap tracks. That's not what I associate the Gorillaz with.

This seems to be a common opinion, but I used to feel indifferent about it as well, however everytime I come back to it I like it more and more. The only real problem I have with it is that there aren't enough non-featured songs if that makes sense.
