Two days ago I came here in search of recommendations for bands whose style is similar to that of The Cardiacs. The answer I got was that no one really sounds exactly like The Cardiacs but here's a bunch of cool weird bands. One of the albums recommended to me was Arrigo Barnabe's Clara Crocodilo.
