what are some beginner songs to learn on the guitar that aren't

OP here, i see there's a guitar and bass general up right now, but learning with videos is a little difficult. it seems like all the parts of the guitar are blown out of proportion and it can be confusing for me. does anyone have any tips on learning and playing? the things that i really need to know? i have an electric guitar.

Start with some Nirvana. They're not too complicated, and you'll get a good hang for bar and open chords.

definitely will keep these two in mind. does anyone think it would be better to invest in an acoustic rather than go ahead and learn on electric? also is it best just to look up the easy song's chords and watch videos and read about it?
