I thought this was the case with me, but I listen to some of the stuff I listened to in the early 2000s and find that I still enjoy it.

I like it. Death metal, black metal, screamo, it varies. I'd never say it's the best form of music; objectively I can say that a lot of that stuff that I enjoy is shit. But I still like it.
