ITT: Albums everyone says is the band's worst but is actually their best
>>74867477
why
>>74867477
This album is a firm fan favorite bro
>>74867393
agreed
>>74867393
Fuck off, Winrar.
>>74867522
It's not a critical favorite though. It's the lowest rated Deftones album on rym and pitchfork panned it
>>74867477
You can let people yell you muh White Pony, but we know this is the fucking purest most uncut and visceral Deftones known to man.
I honestly used to say Adrenaline is the best. But it really just doesn't hold up and it sounds like fucking mud with too many similar songs.
Only one that comes to mind. Not sure about their worst but most people underrate it and I think it's just beautiful
>>74867393
>>74867393
finally someone else says it
>>74867584
get fucked
>>74867738
nah
>>74867745
does anyone actually think this is their worst?
>>74867393
not anymore, Villains is easily the worst
>>74867393
You first
I am not memeing here, this is their only tolerable record.
If any other band came out with this people wouldn't hesitate to call it amazing
>>74867477
It's a solid album, yeah, but not as good as their first three.
White Pony was one of my first albums. I love it, but fuck, going back to it now, the audio compression on it is awful
>>74867918
Didn't you say that about ...Like Clockwork a couple years ago anon?
>>74867477
it's definitely their heaviest album, but many of the songs sound.. unfinished, for lack of a better word.
>it's another contrarian OP thread!
>>74868199
That's what I like about it, it's raw and there's a sense of emptiness that makes the record feel more hopeless than the others
People all about Crossing the Red Sea (really only Gary Gilmore's Eyes), but Cast of Thousands is the end statement of all punk and post-punk.
Fanbase seems to like the album, but /mu/ and some critics hate them after TTTS.
>>74868444
That's not Watch The Throne
>>74868450
is that the brain meme
>>74868444
>4:44
Trips confirmed
>>74868463
Nope, both the album and the meme came to be around the same time.

The only good album they ever made, and the closest thing to a good brostep release ever made, apparently 2 shitty things can make something good on occasion
>>74867745
Lateralus is their best.
>>74867823
I say this as a fan of their first 5 albums, I've always considered this their best. Glad I'm not the only one.
>>74867756
Kill yourself
>>74868393
>>74867918
neither the most disliked nor the best
>>74867844
>>74867745
not the most disliked
At least until Everything Now came out, at least...
>>74867393
>>74867703
man I can see why someone would love it but to say it's their best when they have so much more creative material is kinda questionable
>>74869414
By that I mean that Everything Now is clearly their worst.. but Reflektor is still their best :^)
This is the best MF Doom project ever. Period.
>>74867393
Pablo Honey and not even meming
>>74870162
shit taste desu
>>74868319
It's a contrarian everyone thread
>>74869462
this
well I know some of the /mu/ also love this one the most, statistically.
>>74867738
This so much.
>>74870384
really? you a crazy nigga
>>74868688
agreed
the tracks with the schizo guy are fucking hilarious
also a bunch of genuinely good shit on there, ik a lot of people hate on sublime but they've probably never listened to robbin the hood
>>74869455
this is absolutely their best record
Era Vulgaris is absolutely Queens' worst album. The best track on it is 'Era Vulgaris' and it was fucking cut from 90% of the albums releases.
Songs like 'Into The Hollow' and 'Battery Acid' are among the few songs in the their whole discography that are actually bad songs. It does have some absolute bangers on it like Sick, Misfit and 3's & 7's. But the rest of the album is merely good at best.
It's a strong 8 but it's still their worst album. Pic related is undeniably their best. Just get over it.
I used to hate Era Vulgaris. Now it's probably my favorite as well.
This album isn't really "hated" but it seems like a lot of Gen Xers who have a hard on for Kurt Cobain and worship Houdini didn't bother to give this one a chance. Meanwhile most hardcore Melvins I talk to rank it in their top 5 albums.

>>74867955
it just keeps happening
Josh is a beast
>>74870736
Yuck, but related to this.
>>74870746
im more of a vol. 3 guy myself, but i can see why someone would say iowa is their best.
>>74867477
troof!
A masterpiece that's only hated because of "muh puppets"
>>74870763
They really did almost die making it, you can tell. Reason why some say it sounds like shit, it's very raw and before they broke through with Vol. 3 and Ozzfest headlining.
>>74868450
/r/atheism the band
Fuck you 'muh need Reznor mad' cunts
>>74871418
The problem isn't that Trent's not longer mad, it's that the songs a twice as long as they need to be, if he cut the fat HM could've been an 8/10 album
>>74871515
oh no the songs are too long, my feet hurt, why dies he keep playing why does he enjoy making long songs
>>74871530
He's made good tracks that long before (and since) and good not-angry tracks before (and since) but he doesn't keep them interesting enough to justify their length, at the core of a lot of tracks on HM is a good idea but he doesn't work with it enough to justify a 5 or 6 minute song
Their only album not ruined by Kirk's trashy guitar playing.
>>74871673
You forgot this album
>>74869455
This is their only good album imo
>>74869455
>people saying Pretty Odd is the worst album
It's not 2009 anymore. It was only considered the worst album by people that wanted more of the same shit, and Urie released way worse material after this.
This, but unironically
>>74870187
>>74869615
and is their best by some distance
>>74870162
Pleb
>>74869615
Way easily their best
>>74869370
most people would say pablo or limbs was their worst before this
>>74867738
its not niggas on the moon
>>74870162
underrated, sure, but not their best
>>74873756
kek
>>74870469
I prefer this
>>74869671
but that's a lie
>>74867393
Almost true.
>m-muh 3 weeks!
This is the best album from him and
>>74871418
This was a step backwards.
The EP trilogy is really great though-
>>74867393
Has anyone ever been this wrong?
