Force yourself into situations where you need to get better. Sign up for an open mic before you talk yourself out of it. Say that every week you're either going to perform or write a song. A person and one instrument can be enough for people to listen, so don't worry if you think it isn't fleshed out enough. If you have one song you think is good enough to play around other people, fucking play it! Even if the only people at an open mic are people that are playing at the open mic, it's productive no matter what. You got this dude.
