Nah, SH and SBG are weak examples of true death metal while the others are good examples of accessible death metal. By the time he would want to do SH or SBG, I would rather he do early Morbid Angel and Deicide by then, but atm I wouldn't push those on him as he's still new.

honestly someone is gonna call me autistic for this, but Metallica's black album serves as a great entry point to metal. The songs have a sorta pop-structure and its very cleanly produced, so its easy to digest for someone new to the genre. Then I'd backtrack and listen to their earlier albums.
