Is it bad that Graduation and 808s are my fav Kanye albums?
I just love strong and pop melodies and that period was when he peaked at this aspect.
I'm close to agreeing. 808s is 2nd and Graduation is 3rd. Both behind The College Dropout. Graduation has so many underrated tracks. Champion, I Wonder, Homecoming, Big Brother...

>Is it bad that Graduation and 808s are my fav Kanye albums?
Nope. That is your predilection and you explained why.
Graduation and 808's were a fun set of albums that almost defined coming of age adolescence if you were lucky enough to listen to them at the right time in your life.
Graduation
>flashy synth-pop bangers that that you can still listen to today
>the constant ego-infusions that convince you to take on the world
>prevailed over (yet still co-opted) tired gangsta/luxury rap tropes of the time
>lyrical content appears complex enough but not drowning in depth
808's amd Heartbreak
>diametric opposite but with few ephemeral bursts of graduation hype tone
>sincereity of expression became a genre that we did not know we wanted
>reality dose that world will not acquiesce to you, yet confers resolve on repeat listens
>lyrical content appears complex enough but not drowning in depth

yeezus > 808s everything up to street lights > graduation > late registration > mbdtf > cd > first version of tlop >everything after street lights > latest version of tlop

Mines pretty similar. New age Kanye is better than old Kanye.

I loved Graduation when it came out and its songs always brings me back to a good time in my life.
I wasn't diggin' or lookin' for new music or hip hop in general when 808s came out but after I listened to it I fell in love with the album and it still a grower in me.
808s is definitely his most underrated his 3rd best IMO
