Which of their albums should I listen to besides "Disintegration" and "Pornography"?
All of them up to Wish and Bloodflowers, except maybe The Top. If you like the other stuff you probably wouldn't mind The Top, it's just kind of boring. Also make sure to listen to their non-album singles.

Pretty much any of them. Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me sorta changed my life. Also Wish is really good. The Head On The Door has some songs I don't like as much as others but its a great album with some of my all-time favorite Cure songs on it. Also you gotta listen to Three Imaginary Boys even though it's pretty different from a lot of their later output.

Should I go in order?

Yes

Chronological? For sure
Except I'd listen to Boys Don't Cry over Three Imaginary Boys; they're the same record except Boys Don't Cry adds some of their first singles

Cool. I'm listening to Disintegration but I love it too much turn it off. I"ll go from Chronological for the rest of them.
Also most people don't listen to Wild Mood Swings, but Want (first track on the album) is a great song that you should listen to if you get to that point.

>edward scissorhands and the repellent zeros
Wish (no need to hear Wendy time, though)
In fact, all of them, even Wild Mood Swings (that album has Bare on it, which is a top 10 song!), plus the X-files song and Robert Smith's collaborations with other bands, such as Blink-182 and Cristal Castles
Head on the door is my fave

a night like this and sinking 10/10

You look like you could do with a friend, anon.
>essential (aside from the obvious 2)
Seventeen Seconds
Faith
Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me
Bloodflowers
>check these out as well
Three Imaginary Boys/Boys Don't Cry
The Head On The Door
Wish
Non-album singles
>if you're curious
The Top
Wild Mood Swings
The Cure
4:13 Dream
For my money though, I think Head on the Door is overrated while the self-titled is underrated. I tried to be a bit more impartial than that, though.

I also like Wild Mood Swings more than the average person does but Club America and Bare are the absolute first 2 songs I'd cut from it. Want is godlike, though.

The fuck do you hate about Bare!? It's great!
>>74735099
It's an 8 minute acoustic number that drags on an album that's already overlong. Really, at 14 songs and nearly 70 minutes in length WMS would probably be liked more with a less unruly tracklist considering how hit and miss it can be. I wouldn't scrap Bare wholesale as it's not the worst song, but I'd probably put it as a B-side somewhere for how meandering it is. But my beef is mostly with Club America, arguably the worst thing they ever recorded.
I really really love The Top. Never understood why it was so looked down upon.

The Top is one hell of a fascinating curiosity and the band wouldn't be who they are today without the emotional nadir they experienced at the time but the record really is as tumultuous as the state of the band at the time. It was their first honest foray into more psychedelic territory but it was certainly a bit unchecked (Give Me It, Piggy In The Mirror or Bananafishbones, anyone?) and subsequently refined in the albums that came after. I think it's worth the occasional listen in its own right and they never made something else quite like it again but it really is an odd duck despite being the bridge between Pornography and Head on the Door.
80-92 is the sweet spot

Jupiter crash is really good imo
I agree with most here.
Kiss me
Blood flowers
Wish
Are best
Singles are great
I would recommend 4:13 over boys don't cry/ three imaginary
Don't care for it at all.
Self titled is just so badly produced
faith is their best
