Why do people find the concept of the pejorative "rockism" so hard to grasp? Almost every time I see the word "rockist" used by an Anonymous user of /mu/, it's used as a sort of synonym for "born in le wrong generation". Rockism is a completely different concept entirely. It has literally nothing to do with liking rock music. You can listen exclusively to rock music and not be a rockist, and you can listen to no rock music and be a rockist. As a matter of fact, I think it's safe to say most of the people who use "rockist" as a synonym for "le wrong generation" are themselves the real rockists.
Do you people actually learn the definitions of words before you include them in your vocabulary?
Alright.

I mean. Back before digital it made sense
You could either pay the money for 8 or so 45's or a lesser total for an entire album of the same songs in a neat package

Why are you regurgitating old Antz posts?

The albums meme comes from rock though, sure there were albums and even concept albums before, the theory all music is better on albums is from rock, mostly perpetuated by rock fans. You'll never see a bleeps or funk fan saying you must listen to albums.
Rock is literally better than hip-hop and pop.
Pic related, me listening to rock

You see this all the time on /mu/ whenever someone calls someone a rockist for "muh albums" bullshit.

Rock is pop

No they don't. Of the 3 funk fans and the whole of /bleep/, none will advocate albums over EPs and singles.
first of all, "rockism" is not an actual legitimate term. you autismos just coopted it for the purpose of shaming others which for some reason is how you have fun. secondly, it very clearly denotes some affinity or history with rock music, and while it can be used purely in the context of other genres of music, it always implies the recipient is or was at one time a rock fan
