first of all the repetition of certain phrases is usually to draw your attention to that phrase, indicating it carries a special significance to the message he is trying to convey.
Also, you should try and pay attention to his delivery while he repeats those phrases. on Sorcerer when he repeats that he "flourished in the lag time" he starts the repetition with a cracked, harsh and weary voice. he sounds despondent, even angry. However, by the end of his repetition his voice has relaxed and become calmed, almost whisper like. He no longer strains his voice till it's hoarse. There are many implications of this. throughout the repetition did he LEARN to "flourish in the lag time?" Was he repeating the phrase back to himself until he was finally able to do so and achieve some sort of meditative state?
All I can say is maybe you should pay more attention to the music you listen too.
