/mu/ is very surface level. It has probably one of the highest turnover rates of all the boards since teens come here for a few months, find a few albums, then leave. So there is a perpetual amount of newcomers who end up talking about the same old stuff because it is new to them, but not to the dedicated user base. Threads about other topics rarely gain traction, and the others need generals (classical, jazz, bleep, metal, etc.).
