Ive been on effexor for almost ten years and im fine. 2 years ago I went off them because I had been fine for so long and then after a few months got , ore fucked up then I ever was before effexor and just wemt back on

I've found they've helped, but don't just rely on them as a fix on their own
CBT has helped me as has other stuff like breathing techniques, meditation & mindfulness, some exercise and changes in diet etc. Gave up alcohol (caffeine a long while back)
First two weeks or so are tough because of the side effects but after that it's better. Found they've helped me get better, if it's not working after a while go to your GP/doctor, could well be another med suits better

but yeah they do help! good luck. its not the pills thats the problem. its the adiciton to the pills and the way that we get hooked by them.
