as contrarian and autistic as scaruffi is, one thing that's really good about him is he actually uses a 1-10 scale properly. if he rates something a 6 that means he likes and repsects it. a 7 means he thinks it's truly great. 8 means masterpiece, and 9 means one of the goats.
it's not like pitchfork/rollingstone/IGN who have inflated their scales to where anything less than 8 = mediocre shit

Scaruffi has never even given out a 10, so you can safely add 1 to all his scores (unless you consider his 9.5 as 10, that is). And he actually uses a 1/10 scale, not a 6/10 like most reviewers.

I've only heard a couple tracks but it seems too refined and well-constructed and with not enough of an ego-tripping personality. Like, it's unique but it still lacks a strong ego-tripping personality and, in a weird way, the music doesn't sound like the music of a neurotic failure, unlike all of his other goats.
