Once you move on to the deeper layers of Scarufficore and work your way into Discogs and RYM /mu/ starts to get really stale and samey. You'll see the same albums, same artists discussed on end, genre-specific threads for lesser known/less appreciated genres will sputter out at 20 replies, and there really is a disconnect between you and the average trap rap-loving Fantano-watching newfriend who is unironically excited about the new Lil Yachty mixtape.
I mostly just stick to RYM lists and more obscure music reviews on YouTube now
