Will anything ever top this? On a more serious note, anyone have want to direct me to compositions they find as good or better than this masterpiece? It doesn't have to be 70s prog or anything. I'm pretty open minded when it comes to music

Does it have to be prog rock? If so, then
Amon Düül II - Yeti
Pay close attention because a lot of its depth comes from subtleties and texture that a more straightforward record like CTTE doesn't have.
Otherwise, I would recommend for starters since I am guessing you must be new to this:
Bach - Art Of Fugue (recommended recording is Helmut Walcha's)
Igor Stravinsky - Le Scare Du Printemps (recommended recording is either Stravinsky himself conducting or the Boulez one)
Steve Reich - Music For 18 Musicians
Karlheinz Stockhausen - Carre (recommended recording is the popular Gruppen/Carre one)
Sofia Gubaidulina - Chamber Music With Double Bass
Already been topped senpai
