actually its a good thing that rock isn't relevant anymore so mainstream shitters can fuck off
>>
>>74573853
wow, it's almost as if trends are cyclical in nature
>>
>>74574287
Right, because the most relevant rock music at any given time definitely aged the best and is the most important.

Is it tho? I keep hearing this from people when it comes to "rock is just taking a break" and "after hip hop dies down rock will come back into mainstream", but than I think back...Did Jazz or classical orchestras return to mainstream? What if Rock, and soon enough hiphop and the other nigger music is destined to retire and not come back.
>>
>>74574433
>>74574342

this would be a good thing if there was any innovation in underground rock, which there isn't
>>
>>74574479
classical music was never mainstream outside of a few pieces.
most of it was only enjoyed by educated people, everyone else was into folk music. there was some overlap though, especially in the 19th century.

also idk shit about jazz but I think only the dancier forms of it were really mainstream (kind of like electronic music)

just because something isn't super mainstream doesn't mean it doesn't have a healthy enough scene for people who enjoy it. i love rock music but it's not a big deal if it never goes back to being on top to me
>>
>>74574535
I know it was mainstream at one point, but what I'm saying is did it ever come back from going underground? Did it ever return to the glory days of the 20/30s?
