What is it about Manchester that makes its musicians so redpilled?

>Mark E. Smith: "What I don't understand is, why are all these men young? Why do they leave their wives and families behind? Two million men could beat any fuckin' army. What if my dad had gone to Ireland in 1940, or my grandad? What if they went to a neutral army? No-one ever seems to ask that question."

>Interviewer: You dedicated "Don't Look Back in Anger" to the victims of the Manchester attack and the Grenfell Tower fire. Do you feel more responsible about speaking out these days?

>Liam Gallagher: "No, not at all. That song got hijacked. "Don't Look Back In Anger?" You should look back in fuckin' anger. You should be fuckin' kicking off, you should be finding out why these fuckin' things are going on fire. People should be pissed off because we're getting fuckin' shafted. Your kids can't go to a gig these days without getting fuckin' beheaded or something. It's fuckin' out of order. The people that we put in governments know why this fuckin' shit's happening and they should deal with it. We're just walking around like fuckin' chickens while they're going, "London's open for fuckin' sale." Fuck off, mate. Sort it out."

Why /pol/ thinks thinks that being 'red pilled' is a good metaphor for seeing past political correctness is beyond me.
>white man is told by black man that reality is actually a simulation created by machines to keep mankind docile
>black man frees white man from his delusions and alongside other people of colour and a woman, is trained to fight the machines
>the agents in the matrix are all white men, they mercilessly track down and kill anyone fighting system and assimilate other people who they deem useful into their ranks
>the creator of the matrix is represented as a old white man with a beard who looks like a plantation owner
>our heroes are are assisted by an old black woman who can see into the future
>together they fight to save a place called Zion

>"no black man's going to come in my home and call me the oppressor, cause if I've got any call with the English working class...the English working class created this country so that those fuckers could come over here and complain about it, I have no guilt about them, its only the middle class and upper middle class who have any guilt about the blacks and Irish, do you know what I'm saying? and I don't like people pulling that on me...black people and Irish people come over here and think they're being oppressed, the English working class know that as a fact...Do you know what I mean, no black man's going to come over to me and say "You are the fuckin' oppressor," because I've never oppressed him, as far as I'm concerned he's oppressing me, because I have to watch his music on TV and I don't particularly like it, it's another way of looking at it..."

the men you quoted all came from dead-end working class backgrounds. go to any pub in a working-class manchester district on any day of the week and you'll see and hear people saying this sort of shit.

manchester was a decrepit shithole for decades and it was one of the few cities in the world where, for some reason, the alternative/independent rock scene consisted largely of genuinely working class, underclass people as opposed to the sheltered upper middle class/rich kid types who were prominent pretty much everywhere else. that sort of environment doesn't lend itself to effete liberal posturing. you're too busy trying to survive to figure out what the nice fashionable champagne socialist politics of the week are for you to regurgitate.
