Pere ube thread take #1
What's better the modern dance of dub houseing?
Is new picnic time extremely underrated? I haven't listened to the art of walking yet still spinning their first three. I read they changed up the band so that does worry me that it won't be as quality.
What's your thoughts?

I like the modern dance more, better sounds and pace
the art of walking's great, mayo's a cool guy - check out corky's debt to his father sometime if you haven't. birdies + misery goats are fun
most of their later stuff is kind of cringeworthy
hey dont mind me, just being the superior avant-garde post-punk album

oh and check out the day the earth met rocket from the tombs. peter laughner's guitar playing was incredible. 30 seconds over tokyo blows your face off

I have no idea why these bands get lumped together, they have totally different aesthetics

>That one song isn't even on the album's initial release

Idk man. New picnic time is slowly becoming my favorite. I think musically modern dance is better but new picnic time is so charming. And yeah ima go ahead and get the art of walking

Ray Gun Suitcase and St. Arkansas are both worth hearing from their later period
Their new album seems like it might be decent, the one single for it is much better than anything from any of the 21st century stuff

I just don't wanna be disappointed by them cause their first three that I've listened to them is just so good.
1. Modern Dance
2. All of the stuff that's now officially part of the Datapanik In The Year Zero box set is worth listening to. All their initial singles (which may be even better than their album work for some), their first four albums, then there's some select tracks from like the guys' other projects which I would recommend checking out too if you like those tracks. Otherwise St. Arkansas is the standout from their later stuff. The new stuff sounds very interesting though with so many guitarists I am sure Thomas will come up some crazy shit.
