this holy shit. I was sleeping on blond for a while because I thought it seemed boring and not immediate enough but boy was I wrong. it fits how I feel perfectly
I just downloaded /mu/'s Essential charts. If Blonde/Channel Orange we're good enough to be in a chart, what genre would it be in?

It's a grower. I was pretty hyped. As I loved Channel Orange, I thought it would be as "banger" as the CO, but it wasn't like that at all. I took time to liked it.
Saw Frank the other day and I definetly have a different view about the album.
It's fucking great album.

>/mu/ constantly dickrides this album
>try to get into it multiple times
>don't hear anything that special, just more 2010s r&b
I-it'll click eventually right, this isn't just a meme right?
The New SZA album.

No you must not listen to much R&B it's very abstract sounding, it's akin to say Karen O's crush songs in what it's trying to achieve. Also sonic and lyrically it's speaking to Gen Z a and late millennial more than anyone

It will click eventually, not a meme at all
>>74545574
No, that's your inner patrician speaking. Blonde is pseudo-art garbage for teens and normies

>No you must not listen to much R&B it's very abstract sounding,
im black and grew up with nothing but R&B. why would you make that kind of projection????
There's not much like Blonde. You're better off just getting D'Angelo's Voodoo and Eno's Another Green World and listening to them back to back on repeat. Maybe throw Prince's Around the world in a Day in there too.

I love the whole album. White Ferrari hits me extra hard though. What a beautiful song.
