I feel like the only guy that appreciates Marvin Gaye for the amazing songwriter that he was.
Am I /mu/?
Didn't Motown songwriters write most of the songs on What's Going On?

He had help writing the singles. But pretty much all of the songs that weren't released as singles were written solely by him. Let's get it on and I Want You (the albums) have some fucking great songs on there. I would definitely say his back catalogue is much better than his singles.

Yeah, I fucking love him as a songwriter but only one song on WGO was written by him alone. This isn't even meant as an insult, collaboration is a good thing.

I don't actually like WGO. I think I can tell which ones he wrote himself or had a lot of input with because I'm drawn to those songs in particular. Sounds stupid probably but yeah. LGiO is probably my favourite, there's only one song that is below a 9/10 rating for me on it.

There is no sexier song than the title track to that album in all honesty, may be a meme answer but there's no way around it,

I think it's a shame it's so cheesy 2bh. No one takes him seriously as a result.
