How do I feel the same sense of wonder I felt listening to music it as a kid?
I think taking it for granted, using it as background noise, and having any album available online in seconds has ruined me. Should I just not listen to anything for a few weeks to try and reset my brain?
put on an album
lie in bed
don't look at the internet, don't read or play anything, just lie in your bed and focus only ont he music

Give it 6 weeks. i guarantee when you come back to it, it'll sound great again. Don't fall for musical addiction.
Drugs

Literally not possible unless there is a magical memory erasing drug.
Not just for music. Novelty effect is the number one reason I consider suicide. It's not even about doing new things. True immersion is simply not possible as an adult.

This, but unironically.

>climb jacobs ladder
>music is totally different to how it was for a kid, notice things I didn't understand before
Do it.

This is what happens when you do drugs and not nourish your brain naturally.

you speak only for yourself. foolish to project onto others your own inner failings. consider therapy or meditation if you want to improve your life.

You need inspiration and a change in perception.
Take some shrooms or something. Read about ancient myths and religions. Broaden that mind of yours and you'll get more from the music.

I'll try this. Should I not practice any instruments either?

I think drugs are part of the reason I feel this way. Pretty sure I fucked up my brain's development smoking lots of weed.

the only person that made me feel that way again was St. Vincent. She gets spammed a lot on here, but she's actually good.
Don't listen to anything for a while. I go through periods of not listening to anything when I'm travelling and stuff sounds great (like big childish grin great) after that break.

unironically this.
