Hey /mu/, what do you think of David Bowie? Also, what are some of his best songs?
Sorry for what may be a newfag question, I'm only getting into music
No particular order:
Heroes, Lets dance, life on mars, starman, five years, changes, space oddity, rebel rebel, sweet thing, all the young dudes
the majority of /mu/ find Heroes to be his best album
my personal opinion is that it's tied with Low
as for some of his best songs:
Cygnet Committee
Quciksand
Rock n Roll Suicide
Aladdin Sane
Station to Station
Always Crashing In The Same Car
Subterraneans
Sense of Doubt
It's No Game

why would you direct someone to Heroes before Low, Heroes is basically the not as good sequel to Low
IMO everyone should start with Hunky Dory and Low since they're the perfections of the two different kinds of David Bowie, and then go from there

Thats a neat chart

Heroes is like a different version of Low and I can see why someone would prefer either one, but they're equally as good

I like his very early stuff when he was still using his given name David Jones. After he became David Bowie, I like everything from the early novelty singles up to Young Americans. After that, he loses me.
