What are some of your favorite house tracks?
I never used to be into house, but I went to a club in New York where they played nothing but deep house, and ever since then I love house/techno

well, what are you go to tracks
but I understand the thing about house, it's not so much listening to music by yourself ,but more so going to clubs and dancing and drinking and having a great time
also, for you people familiar with New York, what are your favorite clubs?
Also, what is the difference in simple terms, between House and Techno? They seem to have a lot of overlap
ur not gonna get a real answer so just check out residentadvisor.net ;)

unsatisfying answer, but i think the best way to tell the two apart is to listen to a bunch of both and you'll figure it out eventually. reading the histories of both helps as well. house typically places more emphasis on melody, "groove", "soul", and is more obviously designed to get you to dance, enjoy yourself, and find moments of bliss. techno was born as more of a futurist initiative -- groove is still there but usually in a colder and less organic way, and instead of the overt appeals to human emotion you'll see a more clinical exploration of machines and how we relate to them.
in some of their purest forms,

of course the line can be blurred quite a bit -- check out Floorplan, DJ Koze, Daniel Avery, Kollektiv Turmstrasse for some great hybrid stuff.
