Picked legato. That opening has a flow to it... I'm not saying Van Halen. Angus can obviously do it with or without the pick but I'm hearing a mixture of the two. Fuck, maybe I'm over thinking it now. LOL, you win.

Start eating estrogen. Your voice will be able to reach higher levels that way but it takes about 3 months for the effects to kick in though. Lot of singers eat estrogen because it extends your vocal range a bit.

Get Guitar Pro 6, it's great tool for learning. No matter what you do, play from notes or tabs or use it just to create a song library but it's excellent piece of software. You need to self activate the learning process in this sense that get something to practice from and sight read it from notes. I'd probably start with something like this - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w-Spf-l0pmw. I'm sure you can get the Guitar Pro version notes and then just strip off the tablature markings.

you sir are wrong. ace frehley doesnt play an ibanez and never played a guitar that looked like an iceman model. the only time he ever played an ibanez publicly was on the late 70s and they werent icemans, they were explorers, and he did it very few times.

some guy known as paul stanley, who happened to be in the same band as ace frehley in some point of time, is known for playing iceman guitars, though, and that is probably the reason you confused these two musicians. thanks for letting me.

Sometimes they are. It's mostly that their quality control is nonexistant. Sometimes their stuff is good, sometimes it's complete shit, and there's really no way of knowing when you'll get what. The CEO is also an annoying douche, but that's another matter.

Okay yeah everyone goes through tough times but that doesn't mean you should be an asshole to everyone that doesn't share your points of view, especially at his age. I was a bitter cunt with a superiority complex too 4 years ago but that was justified because I was 16.
And it's not just recently, I remember disliking him since I discovered his channel a few years back because he had that "everybody's a fuckin' idiot except me" vibe.
I mean just read the fucking shit he writes:
>If you are coming here just to talk ignorant shit and insult me, your comment will never be seen so don't waste your time. words that will get you instantly banned and deleted are "immature", "childish", "children", "grow up" and any other non-argument, or a leftist shame technique, lack of brain cells, lack of reading comprehension, or labeling designed to belittle someone's position so you don't have to come up with a legitimate counter argument. you snowflakes can cry elsewhere. I have no tolerance for sjw weakling cucks that get their feelings hurt over stupid shit. go back to your professor and cry in your "safe space" until you grow a pair you insufferable loser. I will also ban you if for whatever reason you try to bring Trump into this.
Not to mention he keeps talking about his "85K subscriber YT channel" and how his video will "go viral", his comment section is filtered, meaning he gets to choose what comments show up and which ones to delete. The fucking idiot doesn't understand that everything went to shit because of his lack of professionalism when contacting a company and complains about it.
Fucking Christ, that's just cringy. If I ever start sperging out like that when I'm an old man, please don't hesitate to put a bullet between my eyebrows.

I know the guy is having health issues too, I don't wish bad stuff to happen to him, in fact I wish he gets better, but come on. He's just making life harder on himself.

Sorry for the blog post, it just really pisses me off.

This is the demise of guitar industry. They shove up all the brands there and there are so many guitars which barely differ from each other. I'm with you on that douche. It's kind of a shame because he has some valid points to make about guitar manufacture and sound; he's one of the few somewhat prominent youtubers who disregard the common knowledge and voodoo thinking that usually go into that stuff and approach things scientifically. But that's all ruined by his demeanor and tendency to approach everything like an edgy teenage poltard. From that video (and his follow-up), it's pretty easy to see why his business failed. He must be unpleasant and unprofessional as fuck to deal with. Sadly, it seems like his attitude is going to keep getting reinforced because he has a bunch of sycophantic followers now.

Do any of you bother protecting your original works before sharing them? I understand in the UK copyright protection can be as simple as just posting a written or recorded song to yourself and leaving the dated envelope sealed, but is there anything I should do to clarify copyright protection when posting online?

I've found a second hand Gibson Les Paul Classic T 2017 model for a ridiculously good price. It's utterly beautiful.

The thing is, I don't play electric, I have never even tried one. I am not doing great for money right now either but I can afford the guitar on finance. This deal just seems too good to pass up though and I play acoustic so much I know the guitar won't gather dust.

What I am worried about is the cost of the essential accessories like the amp and cable. To do the guitar justice what is the minimum (sterling) I should be spending? I will mainly be playing with headphones and I play blues, folk and classic rock. Any recommendations for what I will need please?
>>

You could buy an interface and play through your computer but what a waste of a LP. If you want everything you'd need an amp, cabinet, cables, picks, strings, strap etc. I don't know if you want to spend on that.
>>
>>74534551
If you don't play with other people don't bother getting an amp yet. You'll be more than fine with good headphones and computer. Install software like Amplitube and for DAW, Reaper as that's pretty cheap and you'll be able to play with nice sounds. Takes minimal setup. There are youtube videos about how to set things up anyway.

That's what he did to his Mustangs. The Jag actually had a ton of mods done to it. He didn't do them, either. A couple of years ago, TDPRI tracked down the guitar to some country session musician that used it on a tour with someone (Hank Marvin?) in the late 1970s. The double humbuckers, toggle switch, and extra knob were all added by that guy.

Most of the price is in he name, though. Fender makes a few HH Jags that are way cheaper.
>>
>>74534071
>Are the G&L's generally considered better than MIM Fenders?
Yes. G&L's tribute line makes some really great stuff for the price. I think G&L has been going through some weird production issues lately, too, which means some models are being blown out pretty cheaply through Musicians Friend right now.

>>74542456
I currently has a Juju LP.

I mostly want to get into that whole Sabbath/70's Doom sound, but I have a soft spot for G&L guitars.

The baritone I hear is more of a novelty, and ESP makes a pretty killer baritone too.

I'm mostly just looking for input on the aforementioned guitars. I hear really good things about the G&L tribute line, same for the Iommi signature SG.
>>
>>74542491

tbqh your current Les Paul should be more than enough to give you that Sabbath/70s doom sound. If you're not satisfied with it you could just put in some new pickups and get some Iommi-eseque effects pedals. Your amp and your effects matter a lot more than the kind of guitar you're using.
>>
>>74542579

>>
>>74542911
yes turning a screw a few turns is such a hassle! fuck!
>>
>>74541993
I've shit talked you a ton but I figure I should offer constructive criticism too.

This new eq sounds better, I agree with the other dude that it's a bit too thin. Maybe a bit too glassy too if that makes sense? Have you tried maybe dropping out the high mids/highs a bit and fiddling a bit on the neck pickups for a smoother sound? Sometimes using your guitars actual tone knob can help too, but I find that pretty finnicky.

You might want to consider light compression or a more saturated tone because some of the notes are a bit flubbed when you do more hammer on and pull off style licks. You recover very well from those sorts of errors, and those sorts of licks are harder with more overdriven bluesy tones than on modern higher saturated shred tones.

As far as when you mess up on normal picked licks I feel like doing a few more takes will totally get you to nail down those issues because it lets you kind of flesh out an overall idea for your solo which often helps you be more focused on the improvy side of things. It seems counterproductive to the whole off the cuff bluesy thing but it's really not in my opinion as it's still improv but the extra takes help you really figure out the idea you're trying to express. Generally the rule I've seen from other people is for improv solos do tons of takes 'til you're basically bored of it, then do a few more, then pick the best one. Maybe other people do it different?

Lastly, I think it's pretty important to keep in mind that a live unrecorded improv solo can have a bunch of mistakes but they can all only really be heard once so it's a bit more forgiving than working with recording where people can really critically listen and find flaws. Neither is necessarily better in any sense but I think it's important to not approach them like they are the same.

You genuinely sound good despite the fact that the blues rock thing isn't exactly my favorite music.

Please stop shilling your shit constantly though.
