its shit compared to funeral and suburbs

solid 5/10
every song is forgettable
they tried to go for that post-irony irony but they just went so up their own assholes they're wearing themselves as hats now. this album was a blatant grab for attention using disco-esq rhythms to appeal to a sense of nostalgia for an era that never actually existed. it's the quintessential 23 year old hipster telling you how the grateful dead was always so much better live. it's a bad album.

This album was so disappointing. I don't get how a band goes from 4 masterpieces to mediocre. The singles are ok and the album in general is meh but fuck. I love Arcade Fire. I hope the rebound from this.
