ITT: Post artists who started out with some good albums, followed by a bunch of shit ones, and then another 1 or two good ones again.

what did they mean by this
>>74486953
Pinkerton is way to angsty to be considered their best.
>>74486618
Its rather debatable though the recent Public Image Ltd. albums are certainly "good", nothing above that and Lydon's vocal performances are dismal.
>>74487136
Really? 13 is arguably the only album where they really came into their own sound and Think Tank whilst nothing special is still a decent album.
>>74487136
blur more like dur
>>74486618
I wouldn't say their middle albums were shit, but their earliest and latest ones were their best, for sure. Also Noel's solo stuff is the best he'd done in ages.
>>74487136
Leisure is only ok at best.

I was kind of baiting because I perceive 13 to be hugely overrated here on /mu/, but I feel like they forced themselves into a different sound for 13, and while I love some of the tracks, I don't think it stands as a good album. But I'm biased I guess since I'm not fond of the albums released by british bands on the late 90's overrall, Ok Computer, This Is Hardcore, Head Music, all feel bloated.

I have a hard time putting one over the other personally. I always just default to Pinkerton because of the risk Cuomo took with it when he could have just made Blue Album 2.

Oh I know precisely what you mean, its like modern hip-hop where the albums are all extended beyond reason despite working with a limited range of concepts and styles. Britpop is especially awful when it comes to that, though I do think the length is somewhat justified in 13 if only for their ability to juggle numerous influences into an coherent album, that being said they probably could have trimmed down a couple of the tracks slightly (not Bugman though, that track is great). I'll have to try Suede someday anon, can't say I'm particularly hyped up for it though, Britpop generally sounds quite monotonous.

The first Suede album is a good pop album and their second is incredible - very ambitious but they pull it off.
>>74488885
Nope. They've only made one "bad" album and it's not even that bad.
