Do you need three pedals on a piano?
Most cheap digital pianos seem to have only one.

Probably around 95% of all piano music calls solely for sustain pedal. And the remaining 5% is primarily stuff written for highly advanced playing on specific instruments since the functions of the 2nd/3rd pedals usually vary by manufacturer. Additionally the usual function of the 2nd pedal (the subito pedal) is easily achieved by just playing more softly.
