>Although the musicianship is there the mastering is slightly shit
>Track 5: the shortest straw
> copious amounts throughout my teens
>9.5/10
>I love the layers, I seem to find a new little detail every time I listen through it
>The numbers does not flow too well into present tense, and theres no spectre or ill wind on it
>Ful Stop
>Nearly once a day since release (depressive episodes helped this)

>the cymbal crashes during the choruses of "Offspring Are Blank" are TOO LOUD. The middle run of songs (specifically "Dance For You" "Impregnable Question" and "See What She's Seeing") are my favorite because they're so unabashedly sentimental and happy.
>"Dance For You"
>roughly 15 times
>9/10
>Lyrics are dumb but the delivery of them is god-tier. The grooves can cut valleys into mountains. Songs transition well and there are no weak tracks.
>Cicatriz ESP
>~20 times in the past 2 months
>8/10
>A good, gloomy atmosphere throughout. Feels like the creators produced exactly what they envisioned. Still, at times it can sound kind of murky or even directionless.
>The Big Gloom
>Probably at least 200 times, 50 in the last couple months. I've gotten a bit obsessed with it's sound.
>7/10
>too many leaps in quality, aatp and bat you'll fly are amazing songs that feel almost out of place because of the jumps in quality
>some songs feel like they run out of ideas and things to keep you interested in them and you're just wanting to get to the next one.
>the synths, textures, atmosphere and the drumming are gorgeous
>favorite: bat you'll fly
>listened to it 12 times now.
>10/10
>The high points are absurdly good and emotional, the lower points are enough to carry me to the next high point. Could probably do without the last track but whatever.
>Blackest Bile

>brings a lot of noiser influences like TVU and MBV in a country/folk setting which is cool and interesting and I haven't found much that replicates it perfectly outside of Hope's other projects
>obligatory Hope's voice is gorgeous
>people don't like how samey it is but these same people probably dislike/haven't listened to much slowcore
>>sound-wise it's actually about as varied as I can ask for honestly. has straight pop in Fade Into You and Five String Serenade, shoegaze in Bells Ring, drone in STTIMS and Mary of Silence, minimalist blues in Wasted, even looks towards Beach House in Blue Light
>downside: first two tracks are so good that much of the album hardly compares, but the rest is still pretty good
>favorite track: Bells Ring. gorgeous melody, gorgeous noise, and I love that accelerando towards the end
>listened to it around 5 times I think?
10/10
Jungle Jim, when I'm not listening to it, rubs me wrong with its weakness compared to the other tracks. But when I do listen to it, I'm always reminded of how damn good it is.
The Everyday World Of Bodies
Too fucking many times. I still listen to it regularly.

>Not "Too Live Is To Die"
>9/10
>Vinnum Sabbathi/Funeralopolis is one of the best openers ever, dat thicc production, dat tinny guitar solo on Witchfinder, The Hills Have Eyes
>Weird Tales drags on, We Hate You is just ok, and hidden tracks are memes
>Funeralopolis
>about 50-100 times
>8/10
>I like the melodies, and how the lyrics can be interpreted different ways
>I don't like when he makes weird noises while singing, Completely ruins it for me
>Favorite track is The Moon
>Listened about 20-30 times
>Black Hitler
>7/10
>too noisy because it's harsh noise
>Ectoplasm

>9/10
>Kate reinvents her instrumentation with nearly every track which keeps it sonically interesting
>every song is catchy as hell
>lyrics are top notch and The Ninth Wave is fascinating in terms of thematic presentation
>plenty of 10/10 moments like the outro of The Big Sky, tempo shift in Waking the Witch, poetry in Jig of Life
>key change in Hello Earth (C# minor to F when the choir kicks in) is one of the more interesting ones I've heard in popular music, especially since the bass drops down a tritone (B->F) which sounds more seamless than you'd expect and the re-interpretation of the string drone as the leading tone back to C# is also pretty cool
>instrumentation wise, The Ninth Wave does not flow very well. probably could use some more ocean sounds to really ground the setting, especially in the first track which was before the dream fuckery happens
>the live version of Morning Fog is honestly so superior to the original that it's hard to go back (flows better from Hello Earth too)
>like 20 times

oh and my favorite track is the title track because despite its simplicity its a tour de force of emotion

how the fuck can someone listen to amsp everyday for over a year
>10/10
>I like the originality for the most part. Fast tremolo strumming with slurred vocals for example is something I hadn't heard before listening to this album. I also like how consistent it is. Over the 23 tracks there's only one I don't like.
>It varies but at the moment it's Sorry Charlie
