He music is in the same exact vein and in many instances the same exact sound as Top 40 music that gets peddled out before the masses and shoved down their throats. The only difference with Grimes is that Grimes is considered "hip", gets inflated ratings by Pitchfork, and dresses and sounds slightly different than the other artists occupying the charts.

Grimes not only imitates artists in the top 40 in her sound and style (Lady Gaga, Madonna, ext), but also blatantly rips off Eastern Culture in the exact same way that weebs on imageboards around the internet and weird shut in kids who watch anime do. Its annoying and its cliche.

Besides being an industry plant and just in general being garbage, Grimes manages to produce albums that will make your head spin with how annoying they are. Art Angels especially is like biting into pure sugar and not brushing your teeth. Everything about it is too poppy and too over the top. It almost reminds me of Be Here Now by Oasis in this fact.
