Yeah, could totally see calling her music that, although I wouldn't say it sounds as dark as most other darkwave either. I'd chock it up to the whole "sad dance music" effect (Grimes writes sad dance music, which is sort of a contradiction if you think about it.) It also makes for some of the greatest music there is.
