Im currently getting interested in music theory but I am basically musically illiterate. I would like the first learn how to actually read music. How should I go about doing that?

It’s basically just how high up or down on those lines is how high or low the note is and then the way the note is drawn shows how long to hit it for.
Don’t get hung up on this if it’s not clicking, just use a piano roll. It’s the math that counts

start copy. copy from piano to notes with some basic music midi program. or from notes to piano and learn all the symbols.
