What are some good dance albums using electronic instrumentation and production?
Note I'm not saying EDM.
For the record, my second favorite album of all time (and favorite album in this vein) is Settle by Disclosure.
Other favorites include Discovery by Daft Punk, Cross by Justice, and Adventure by Madeon,
Honorable Mentions to Woman by Justice, In Colour by Jaime XX,
What are some essentials?
Stuff like Burial, Flying Lotus, etc isn't quite what I'm looking for.
Ever heard of the chemical brothers they sound like what your looking for

Yeah I know them and a few of their big hits.
What album would be the best place to start, or is their whole discography worth going through?

Well, at least where I'm from, when people say EDM they usually refer to shit like Tiesto, or Alesso, and other such crap.

I've lurked for years.
But nobody on this fucking board ever talks about this kind of shit.
It's always the same 20 albums over and over again, or whatever hip-hop album came out in the last 3 months.
I am quite capable of looking myself, but I was hoping to get some other peoples opinions and suggestions because occasionally there are people on this board who actually have some taste.
Go fuck yourself.

Thanks mate.
Briefly listening to the intro and skipping around a little for a general feel and this seems right up my alley.
Never heard of this guy before either.
Appreciate it mate.

I'll check these out afterwards

Thats a very expansive question.
>Disclosure, Daft Punk, Justice, Madeon, Jamie XX
So electro-house, nu-disco kinda stuff?
Todd Terje, Kerrier District, Kraak & Smaak

Probably deviating a bit, but you might dig it

Added to my library, I'll give them a listen.
Checking out some singles by them for a feel, and I like both.
Kraak & Smaak especially.
And yeah pretty much that kinda style, melodies and danceable beats are very important to my musical enjoyment 80% of the time.
>>74402683
I do dig it, it's pretty nice honestly.
Thanks man.
Don't like it quite as much as the todd terje stuff, but it's quite enjoyable.
Better then most stuff I would've been able to find on my own by shooting in the dark.

Last one seems how you kind of like my suggestions. More funk leaning and not strictly electronic instrumentation, but definitely danceable.

I think Lone might be up your alley, I've been a pretty big fan of most of his stuff since I stumbled across Galaxy Garden (which is probably where I'd recommend starting, I think it's his strongest and most energetic release)
>>74402772
Gracias amigo.
I'll add it along with everything else.
You made creating this thread worth it chap.
Have a good night.
>>74402795
Alright, I'll check it out.
I've heard of it and definitely remember the cover, but don't know much about it.
Seems like something I might like though
Robyn - Body Talk
Similar to Jamie XX.

Great album, Andorra and milk of human kindness are better though imo

Try vessels, public service broadcasting, older foals (total Life Forever or balloons), and some SBTRKT
