To be fair, just going off the lyrics, you could also interpret the singer as being a gay man dating a trans person and struggling with whether or not they are still attracted to each other because the perspective being sung changes, but yeah, the lyrics are very explicit to people who relate to them but I guess you could miss what they are about if you just think they're weird
