That's because it's stupid and trivial and reduces any creative aspect of the music to an ornament on a beat. Right, I forgot. Dance music is the final retreat of decaying talent. As an idiom, it's the worst, and when embraced by musicians from another idiom it signifies an ugly and desperate move that probably immediately preceeds the end of a career.
Is he right?
