The only way for rock to become popular again is to be even louder, nosier, more relevant and more shocking than before
Good tunes would help too
harsh rock

So Metal?
Why?
>implying anything can shock anymore
So Noise Rock?
> more shocking than what came before
Okay. When you come up with a popular genre with mass appeal, that's more extreme and shocking than power electronics, grindcore/goregrind, powerviolence, noisecore, war metal, and danger music, let me know.

Who cares about relevancy? Just listen to whatever you want to listen to. You think people gonna stop making rock music?
Rock never was the most popular music in my country but still this day we have a pretty good hardcore/punk and even shoegaze scene where I live.
Just shut the fuck up. Things chance, people change, deal with it.

>more shocking
no thanks.
>>74391186
>louder, nosier
>more shocking
this sounds sexist and homophobic, no thanks
I can't imagine rock or metal music going to any greater extremes than it already has. It's been fast and slow, loud and quiet, complex and minimal, acoustic and electronic, and everything in the middle. Rock has been stretched every possible way.

We need to mix trap, piano rock, and smooth jazz with glam/power metal vocals.
when will rock go back to its roots and stop being a nu-male whinefest?
this is why FIDLAR has been the only exciting rock act of the last decade
>>74392194
lol you literally just tried to come up with the worst thing you could possibly imagine
>>74392254
I think it already is doing that. The most successful rock bands of this decade are actually revivalists of old styles.
>>74392346
such as?
>>74392577
Garage rock, a la Ty Segall and Thee Oh Sees.

What about a constant 2 kilohertz?
