Watching the reputations of grunge and now pop-punk seeing a critical evaluation is macabre desu. Nostalgia is a hell of a spook. When I was a kid and there was some absolutely pointless dad-rock on the radio I'd wonder, "how the hell can this be considered relevant enough to play for thousands of people decades later" but now I've seen the process at work.
