Who's fault is this?

We all know (((who))) is behind this. Post WW2 "art" was a mistake.

Bach sounds like confused noise. It's just random noodling with no rhyme or purpose. Get a bunch of random instruments going up and down scales and you get a Bach piece. Classical music only started getting good when Mozart was invented and realized you need real melodies to make good music.

If you want good modern classical music, turn to movie and video game scores to be honest.
Listen to Bloodborne Suite and tell me that isn't a great piece of music.

This. Unfortunately, this is where most good "classical" is directed, even if around here it is looked down upon for being "video game music so it's stupid".
Actual "modern classical" is mostly garbage. If you want actual classical, and actual good music, you need to listen to old stuff. Especially old recordings.

Here's some modern classical that is not confused noise:

Contemporary classical encompasses an incredibly wide variety of styles. Each composer does something different. Ferneyhough does things that plebs think sound like confused noise (although his music is actually excellent if you look closely at it), while Einaudi writes simple and easy to digest music that plebs can enjoy.

In the 19th and 20th century music changed forever, just like our lives have changed forever by scientific thought, electricity, computers and the internet.
You essentially need to re-think what makes music music if you want to appreciate the 20th century composers Schoenberg or Stockhausen. You shouldn't go into listening to their music looking for a memorable tune or a chord progression you can understand. You should go in expecting an experience. You will hear interesting and unusual sounds and combinations of timbres and rhythms you may not have heard before. You will be challenged and most likely not like it to start with, that or say "it just sounds like horror movie music", even though its the other way around: horror movie composers looked back at the early 20th century composers for their inspiration.

>Who's fault is this?
Yours for expecting modern classical to sound the same as music written in a time when horses and carriages were the primary means of transportation, bacteria and hygiene weren't understood, and people wore powdered wigs.
