How do I listen to music all day without going deaf? How loud is too loud?
The problem is your ears can get used to a dangerously high volume and you wouldn't realize it, frog in hit water style.
Here's the fix
>set up volume BEFORE listening to music
>set it up so it's a comfortable volume, not loud but not too quiet
>don't turn it up while listening
I go max volume whenever I'm driving

How do I know what's comfortable isn't too loud? I usually stop well before I can physically feel my ears straining but I'm not sure if I'm doing damage I can't detect.
I generally do what you've described although I have to adjust a lot because some music is recorded at much higher volumes and others are recorded at much softer which complicates things and makes me unsure of what is and isn't safe.

I use open-back Senns, HD598 which have a high Ohm Resistance if that matters at all.
