1. learn the major scale in chords
2. play any of the notes in those chords with other notes from the same chord

or

1. play a note
2. find a major chord it is played in
3. play another note from any of those chords

Write a melody first, then knowing what you've written you can harmonize over it.

And also, learn drums.

Do what Joe Pass did. Certainly not with that guitar though.
