Any more sites that should be on here now since this is quite old?

What are your top 3 sites for discovering music?
>>
move rym down by 2 levels
>>
>>74303249
thepiratebay
>>
>>74303249
I can't be the only one who thinks spotify recs are surprisingly good

Some of my favorite bands were spotify recs
>>
>>74303249
that's correct actually but The Quietus deserves to be in God-tier
>>74303258
RYM is at least community aggregated like the other two Holy Trinity
>>
>>74303303
Yeah, it's helped me find a few hidden gems
>>
Wikipedia is good for its presentation / expansiveness
>>
>>74303249
What's wrong with rutracker?

Shit for bleeps
Shit for any singles/EPs in general
Shit for classical
>>
>>74303249
>scraruffi at shit tier
His lists have a lot of strong picks like Faust, Robert Wyatt's solo discography and the wonderful world of Royal Trux.
>>
>>74303249
this chart was probably made by a mucore listening neckbeard. there's no other explanation as to why it's so bad.
>>
>>74303741
Any more buzzwords or did you actually have an argument?
>>
Spotify is by far the best way to discover new music
>>
>>74303249
Put the chart upside down and it makes sense
>>
>>74303741
If it was, holy trinity would be Fantano, /mu/ and p4k

lol like this pleb >>74303795
>>
>>74303802
Oh yeah 'cause Soundcloud and Allmusic are such great ways to find music
>>
>>74303847
SC is great as most electronic producers have accounts there and constantly upload
>>
The chart is still pretty good.

I would add Scaruffi to God-Tier, Soundcloud to Shit Tier, Redacted (what.cd equivalent) to Holy Trinity, Soulseek to God Tier, Rutracker to God Tier, and Bandcamp to shit tier.

>>74303303
>>74303346
>>74303781
Maybe because you are all plebs.

>>74303372
Not really, no.

>>74303685
Rutracker is great for classical.

>>74303741
Actually, the chart is pretty "based" as it challenges the /mu/core narrative. See >>74303802

>>74303847
They are not, but that doesn't contradict what he said.

>>74304043
Eh, true, but it's misleading to catalog SC as a whole just because of those few.

Where's Sputnikmusic, metallum and prog archives?
>>
>>74304270
fuck off, tripfag
>>
>Christgau not at the bottom
>>
>>74304366
where should they be?
>>
>>74304366
Shit tier, no joke.

>>74304353
He's pretty good, he set a high standard in rock criticism.

>>74304361
You and me both know what the average /mu/tant is going to think when they think about Soundcloud and it's not those electronic artists but a bunch of lame generic amateur users.
>>
>>74303249
Why is last.fm so low? It's not nearly as good as it once was and the suggestions they have for you are usually shit, but I've discovered countless artists from there over the years
>>
>>74304270
Scaruffi has a few good albums in his favourites but no other reason to care about him
>>
>>74304386
Average I guess
Sputnik is non shit version of Pitchfork
>>
>>74304393
not my fault most are stupid, 90% of all decent producers are on SC though
>>
>>74304399
was gonna say the same thing, I'm a new user and I still am able to find new, great artists
>>
I go to local basement shows and keep up with artists I like.
>>
>>74304393
Kill yourself
>>
>>74304399
>>74304415
backlash over the site changes
>>
>>74304399
Anything that uses genre tags to recommend you music is automatically a 1/10 fucking useless piece of shit.
The only reason something like Spotify would rise above that is because it goes a step beyond and makes you playlists to recommend music.
>>
>>74304393

Top kek

who /boomkat/ here
>>
>>74304270
Hahahah and you used to deny being a Scaruffi drone at one point.
>>
>>74304401
I guess, just put him in average then.

>>74304414
Which is not the same as saying 90% of SC artists are decent. Hell, not even 10% of SC is decent.

>>74304436
Hey, before him it was Rolling Stones trash, so be grateful lol

>>74304407
No, not average, definitely shit.

>>74304450
I'm not, but I still think he's great.
>>
>>74304444
Put your trip on faggot
>>
>>74304428
I agree their recommendations are pointless, but I was referring more to similar artists, looking through other users' libraries, and groups back when they had them. I'd say they used to be god-tier and should probably be average tier now.
>>
>>74304393
>>74304461
What is Shit about Sputnikmusic
>>
>>74304462
that wasn't me lol

>>74304482
It's just meh. ProgArchives are Metallum are pure garbage though.
>>
>>74304461
No one cares about Scaruffi except some drones and special snowflakes

His written reviews are actually terrible, people only like him because of his mall goth contrarian taste
>>
>>74304491
Metallum has shit community and mods but database is great
>>
>>74304504
Scruffles is into some good shit and I've discovered some nice stuff through him (Red Krayola, Wyatt, The Fugs, etc.). His reviews do suck though
>>
>>74304504
>His written reviews are actually terrible
Kind of, yeah.

>people only like him because of his mall goth contrarian taste
Nah, it's because he legit knows about less known rock music and rates them on what appears to be artistic merit and innovation.

This guy gets it >>74304559

>>74304523
Not really. Just use RYM or Discogs for database.
